PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Welding Department at The Santa Fe Community College is a booming department needing to accommodate more student work stations and also needing improved ventilation and filtration. Tipton Engineering designed a new exhaust system for the added welding booths as well as a plasma cutting station. Welding and cutting exhaust is ducted out of the lab to a central bag house just outside. TE also designed a hard piped welding gas system providing four essential welding gasses to each booth terminating at a manifold. All supply tanks are located outside of the lab and piped in through the exterior. Lighting was also critical in each booth and safety is paramount. Explosion proof fixtures were used to ensure the safety of the students while providing adequate task lighting.
